Mr. Jonathan declared that the senators should know that there are other issues that ought to catch the lawmakers’ attention instead of threatening to sack him.

President Jonathan took this position in a statement issued by Doyin Okupe, a medical doctor who serves as senior special assistant to the president on public affairs.

The statement was however silent on whether Mr. Jonathan considers that he has, or has not, committed any impeachable offence.

The Senate in the last four years has conducted its legislative functions and responded to issues that are of great national importance with commendable political sagacity.

The Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo, said negotiations towards a consensus on the proposed template accounted for the observed delay in processing applications received from Nigerians who seek to own homes under the 10,000 Mortgage Finance Scheme launched recently by the government.

“That is why processing the application has been delayed by about four weeks so that subscribers would not have to pay additional 16 per cent when they go to perfect their ownership titles.”

“There is no hidden agenda in the process at all. Those who do not qualify would also receive letters explaining why they were not able to meet the selection criteria,” the minister assured. “We trying to scale down the cost of mortgage finance from 16 to 3 per cent to make it affordable to ordinary Nigerians.”

Little Baby suffocates to death in between his parent while sleeping

Baby of 6-week-old baby named Noah, suffocated to death in his sleep after being deprived of oxygen while sleeping in between his parent in bed at their home in Bradford, in West Yorkshire.
              
According to the UK Telegraph, Noah's parents, Paul Pearson 24 and Emily Lambert 22, had left him with his grandmother while they went out with

friends for drinks for the first time in a year. They returned at about 3:30am the following day drunk but still took their baby from the grandmother... Noah's father took him into their room to sleep in his Moses basket which was placed by his side of their bed. But when Noah started to cry around 5am, his father took him from the Moses basket and brought him into the bed he shared with his partner and placed him between them. When the couple woke up at about 8.50am, they found blood coming out from Noah's nostrils.

This is really a sad news..

Pope Francis Prays In Mosque

Pope Francis today took part in a Muslim prayer with the Grand Mufti of Istanbul on his second leg of his three day visit to Turkey.

Pope Francis was alongside theGrand Mufti side to side today and clasped his hands for a two minute silent prayer in the 17th-century Sultan Ahmet mosque, aiming to show respect for Islam and encourage stronger ties between the two faiths.

May God accept it,” Rahmi Yaran, the Grand Mufti of Istanbul told the pope at the end of the prayer.

It's a blessing as Peter and Paul of P-square are now uncles.

As the nation awakes from the ruins of the friday bomding, victims of the blast in kano have been recounting their experience of the sad day.

The Kano Central Mosque had been closed down for the first time in its 400 year old history .

Survivors of the disaster ranging from 13 to 70 years old have recounted their experience.

As they lay on their hospital beds suffering from various degree of pains and recounted their ordeals.

The Chief Imam of Masalacin Nakuka of Naibawa Quarters said that his 32-year-old son, Ahmadu Inuwa, and a neighbor, Malam Mai Tasi, “were seated two rows away from my position”.

One year, he married ten wives. Two of them sisters. His 39 wives say they are blessed to have him and take turns to share his bed.
