Jonathan has finally summoned members of the National Security Council to a meeting at the Presidential Villa against the background of recent events and developments relating to insecurity in the country

Following the National anger that has greeted his partying and dancing in Kano barely 24 hours after several of our country men and women were killed in Abuja, with many still battling for their lives, President Goodluck Jonathan has finally summoned members of the National Security Council to a meeting at the Presidential Villa against the background of recent events and developments relating to insecurity in the country.

The meeting is scheduled for 11:00 hours on Thursday, April 17, 2014. Those
expected at the high powered and top level secret security meeting include:

Vice President Namadi Sambo, Minister of Defence, Lt.-Gen Aliyu Gusau, the National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd.), the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, the Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, the Director-General of the State Security Services and the Director-General of National Intelligence Agency.
Others are governors of the 36 states of the federation and leadership of both arm of the National Assembly.
The atmosphere at the meeting is expected to be charged as many of the governors are not happy with the way and manner the Jonathan-led federal government has been handling killings of Nigerians on daily basis.
