The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) said it had approved 30 computer-based centres for the 2015 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in Lagos State.
Lagos Coordinator of the Board, Dr Beatrice Okorie said that the development was a great improvement over the previous years when there were only five centres.
She disclosed this when asked about the board’s level of preparedness ahead of next year’s matriculation examination slated for March 4, 2015.
The board, had during the 2014 examination which comprised the Paper Pencil, Computer Based and the Dual Based modes, declared that it was migrating fully to an all computer based test, reports the News

UNBELIEVABLE!! Snake Allegedly Withdraws Cash At Barclays Bank ATM [See Photos]
According to the report, a snake slithered to an ATM machine at Barclays Bank, Angwa Street and then entered a car.
Passers-by surrounded the car to get a closer view of the snake and its owner. Others were busy taking photos from the onset and managed to capture pictures of the snake and the car that it later entered.

The 2014 edition of the Naija Music Video Award turned out very successful for Five Star Music as the label grabbed the highest number of awards at the ceremony.
The awards ceremony, which took place on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Eko Hotel and Suites, V.I, Lagos saw the music label winning a total number of four awards.
The label defeated Chocolate City, YBNL, HKN Gang, Mavin records and Effyzzie to win the Best Producer award while Five star Music act, Harry a.k.a Mr Songs, won two awards by defeating Yung L (S.O.S), Yemi Alade (Johnny), Davido (Tchelete), Olamide (Eleda Mi O), Mavin (Dorobucci) to win Best Pop Extra video for his song ‘My Story’ and also The Best Contemporary Afro Video for the song ‘Kolombo’, he defeated Skales (Shake Body), VJ Adams (Whatsup), Mr 2kay (Summer Girl), Tee Blaq (Garawa) and Sanni Danja ( Yawa) to win the award .

How I Survived Prostate Cancer, Wole Soyinka Reveals
Prof. Soyinka had prostate cancer for 10 months without letting anyone, it was a conference that he made this known and has advised that people go for regular check up to detect any disease early enough.
“In November, last year, I discovered that I had cancer and I have been treating it. I finished treatment on October 28 and that’s why I’ve come out to tell you this. Many people start looking at you as if you are a ghost; No! It’s not a death sentence and it is curable. I have undergone the treatment and I even have a certificate and medal to show for it, but I don’t normally wear decorations." He Said.
“I want to use myself to encourage others to take whatever test available to them in our limited circumstances here and more importantly to encourage those who are in charge of our health to take the cancer menace seriously,” Soyinka said.

Nine Fleeing Inmates Recaptured in Kogi and neighbouring states.
NIPS-The Nigerian Prisons Service said it had re-arrested nine of the 143 inmates that escaped during the November. Three gunmen attack on Koton Karfe Prison in Kogi State.
Mr Adam Omale-The Controller of Prisons in the state, who disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lokoja, said the prisoners were recaptured in Kogi and neighbouring states.
22 of the fleeing inmates had returned to the prison on their own said by Omale.
He said among those re-arrested were six convicts while the remaining ones were awaiting trial.
He said that the service was on the trail of 113 inmates still on the run, and assured that all of them would soon be recaptured.
The controller also said that the NIPS headquarters in Abuja, the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Police had commenced separate investigations into the incident.
He said the outcome of the investigations would be made public as soon as it was ready so that others can be re-captured Also.
Omale called for speedy completion of work on the new prison facility under construction in Koton Karfe.
He also called for the establishment of another prison facility at Lokoja to reduce the pressure on the Koton Karfe prison. (NAN)
